DIY Travelers Notebook

Hi friends! Today I’m bringing you a super fun and easy project! We will be making our own Travelers Notebooks! I love Travelers Notebooks because they are so flexible, you can use them for just about anything and in my case it will be an Art Journal! Let’s get start!

Supplies

Fabric (I’m using two pieces of canvas)

Elastic Cord

Crop o dile

Grommets

Fabric glue or Needle and Thread

Let me start by saying I hate sewing! So when I sat down to do this I had an aha moment and decided to use some fabric specific hot glue sticks! Alright let’s get this going!

First cut both pieces of fabric to the same size. Sizing is really a personal preference, mine is about the size of a B6 and you can find a reference for those here. https://chicsparrow.com/pages/sizes-101-tn-insert

Then I just glued the two sides together with my hot glue gun! Next you want to measure your cover, mark it and make holes. I measured mine 2 inches in from top and bottom and then the middle!

After you’ve punched and grommeted your cover now it’s time to string it! You want to put both ends of your string through the top and bottom hole (just ignore the middle on for now) then turn it over and knot on the inside. Optional - you can put your strings through twice so it holds two books!

Next you want to measure your cover and make a loop about double the size, fold it in half and knot together at the ends. Then just slide through your middle hole and viola you are done!

I added some fun trim to mine to spruce it up a bit! Hope you enjoyed this little tutorial and I will talk to you soon!
