Getting Past the Blank Page

image.jpg

We all know how it goes, you decided you wanted to Art Journal today.... You sit down at your desk and open up to a blank page and suddenly you are stuck with the pressure of filling this blank page and making it something amazing. You start looking on your phone for inspiration and before you know it an hour has past and you feel even more frustrated than when you say down!

This is happens to me really often but I have found a three really easy ways to just get paint on your page and get you going!

1. Swipe it!

This is so easy and takes no time at all! Just take an old credit card and swipe a few different colors across your page!

2. Drip it!

I love doing this! Just drop some fluid acrylic or ink on your page and spray with a bit water and then turn your page around and let the colors bleed and drip!

3. Smash it!

This is similar to dripping but has such a fun effect! Drip some paint onto your page, grab some paper towels and smash the paint into your page! I just continue doing this until the page is full of fun color!

Well ill I really hope these quick background techniques help you get past the fear of a blank page! Just remember to go for it, it's all about the process not perfection!
